How hard is it to find a slang dictionary with the word shpeel?!?
I'm livid (well, not really)! I searched like 10 slang dictionaries with no luck (I'd link to one / some, but many of them were just foul, so that's gonna be avoided). It's not like it's a new word or something--I have a feeling that it's been around for a while. *sigh* They call the Internet the Information Super Highway.
You would think someone would have a reference telling a person how to spell shpeel!
Grrr.

shpeel
I equally couldn't find it anywhere, to my astonishment! There is the word " schpiel " which phonetically I think is the same, but has a different meaning. Actually, I prefer "schpiel". But the former is probably how most people would spell it.
So let's bless it: "Shpeel" means "an explanation of an idea, usually meant to pursuade someone of the validity of the idea" . Surely the Collins Cobuild dictionary will pick it up one day, because it's supposed to be a dictionary of real (as opposed to normative) English. In fact, I'm emailing them this right now.
