Word of the Day
Todays' Word of the Day, brought to us by Merriam-Webster (as usual), is:
- shaggy-dog story - SHAG-ee-DOG-STOR-ee (noun)
- a long-drawn-out circumstantial story concerning an inconsequential happening that impresses the teller as humorous but the hearer as boring and pointless; also : a similar humorous story whose humor lies in the pointlessness or irrelevance of the punch line
Hmm. I think I should rename my web site--that all-to-well describes my stories and this blog.
Speaking of which, have I told you about the time....
Crabs
I was walking around with a friend by some water late at night last week and we kept seeing these splashes in the water. It took us a couple of times to see what was going on--we saw this thing that looked like a crayfish at first, but then it turned around and we could see that it was a crab. And then we looked around at the water and saw them everywhere. I'd never seen crabs swimming around like that--it was really cool.
I walked out of the
I walked out of the grocery store today and it started spitting (big gobs) rain. I was like, Look, gimme five minutes--I'll go right home, get the mail, and go right inside. Then You can make it rain to Your heart's delight!
So, it spit some more, but tapered off a bit, on the drive home. I got the mail, walked onto the porch, and right then it started pouring! I mean, I stepped foot onto the porch, didn't even have a chance to turn around, and the skies opened up. Cool, thanks.
It's cool having Somebody look after you like that.
