Rest in peace, William Everett Appleby. A fellow Lynchburg College student, William died this morning in a car accident. A lot of my friends are, quite naturally, pretty shaken up about it. My roommate's roommate from last year, Jeff, was William's roommate this year. Both my roommate, Dave, and Jeff are pretty shaken up.
I remember last year when a couple of Randolph-Macon Woman's College students died while walking across a railroad bridge in town (I don't remember the exact circumstances--a train came and I think they fell off the bridge). One of my friends over there had one of the girls in her orientation group at the beginning of the year, so she was a little shaken up. I wonder what will happen around campus now. I wonder if I knew the guy's face.
I'm sorry that I couldn't have known him. I pray that God will use this situation for good. And I pray for mercy on his soul. Again I say rest in peace, William. Rest in peace.
