OK, so yeah, I'm alive

OK, so yeah, I'm alive and well. Talk about making mountains our out of mole hills: I got to Dulles like 3.5 hours before my flight. I walked directly up to the ticket counter, took 10 minutes to get through security, and caught a flight (on a jet, not a prop. plane) 2 hours earlier then the one I was supposed to go on. Similar experiences on the way back.

The trip was good. I have my car back: she was in the shop. Actually, Sunday was a beautiful day for traveling. It was warm and sunny: perfect weather for singing in your car. I, of course, took advantage of this opportunity to sing. Yeah, it was a great day to sing.

Speaking of singing, my just-married cousin and his new wife did the traditional Reception first-dance thing to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Your Love. What made it incredibly sweet is that they were singing to each other through the entire song. I was about to cry, it was so beautiful.

It was great to see my cousins again. My oldest cousin, Shawn, is 32. He's currently living in Amsterdam, Holland. His girlfriend is from Australia. Craig, the next oldest, is living in Saratoga, NY, where the wedding was held. Dan, the just married fella, lives in Sacramento. Next, Reena lives in Florida. Devon, who is 23, lives in San Francisco. Finally, Andy, 13, lives at home. The last time I saw them all was 8 years ago, I believe, at a family reunion. I think I've grown about a foot since then. They were all impressed. It was cool.

As I said, the wedding was in Saratoga, NY, home of the Saratoga Race Course and Saratoga Spring Water. It's a quaint little town, a nice place to visit. We stayed in the Brunswick Bed & Breakfast, which I highly recommend. The owner, Kirk, called around and found a place for us to have dinner (we ended up next door). He's extremely polite and accommodating; a wonderful host. The Springwater Inn (the restaurant next door) has wonderful food (and desserts!) too.

All in all, a great time was had by all (Redundant Department of Redundancy). I'll probably be in the same place in June for Reena's wedding. I'm going to try to convince my sister to come too. That'll be interesting....
