Netscape 4.x is a horrible
Netscape 4.x is a horrible browser to code web pages using CSS for. It seems to have more bugs than correct functionality. Don't fret, though; there are plenty of resources available to aid you in working around the bugs and getting a web page that still works great in CSS-compliant browsers. The CSS Problems in Netscape FAQ over at All My FAQs is the most complete resource I've found to answer questions about Netscape 4.x's CSS support and work-arounds for its bugs.
Currently, there isn't a simple, standard-compliant, scriptless means of passing a separate stylesheet to Netscape 4.x and CSS-compliant browsers. I've resorted to using a hack--exploiting a bug in Netscape--to give Netscape 4.x a different stylesheet. I first got the idea from another web log with information on how to hide certain CSS from Netscape 4.x, though it didn't hide that CSS from CSS-compliant browsers. The idea is to use the non-compliant src attribute of LINK instead of the standard href attribute to reference the stylesheet. Only Netscape 4.x recognizes src, so there's no risk of its special stylesheet contaminating your stylesheet for standard-compliant browsers. Cool.
Unfortunately, none of the HTML where I'm using this hack validates now. Oh well. That's a necessary evil considering I have to support Netscape 4.x.

I have this habit of going to sleep at 2am whenever I post things to my web site. It doesn't look like I'll be breaking that habit tonight.

I think one of my toes--the one that gets roast beef--has a callus from my sandal. Oh well, at least my toes got some fresh air today.

Despite recently recovering from bronchitis,
Despite recently recovering from bronchitis, I went for a run around campus just now. I left Stinger's--our campus coffee house--and started jogging toward my dorm, only to stop after several paces, turn around, and run in the opposite direction. I made a loop around campus and just a couple of minutes later, I was back at my dorm, refreshed from a quick run.
This is truly a marvelous end to a great day. Last night, I had a fit of desperation, distraught at the work I didn't accomplish over the weekend. Instead of giving in to the desperation and going to sleep in a bad mood, I sought out a friend and prayed.
Today, the rewards from that prayer were abounding. I was able to cross off nearly everything from my To Do list. Yet, accomplishing so much was just part of what made today so wonderful. Each task was a joyful experience. For instance, when I sent in my Virginia tax information, I forgot to send in the money that I thought I owed. Today, I looked into the situation a bit more and discovered that I was receiving a refund. In fact, the refund check is already at my home waiting to be cashed.
Now I'm off to write a paper to prove something that can't be proven for my English class. I'm going to attempt to prove that not all blondes are dumb. If I think the paper is of high enough caliber, perhaps I'll post it. Good night.
