On This Day, Twenty-Two Years Ago...

Woohoo, I'm twenty-two!

Talking and Hair Loss

Paul, a regular attendee of the Sunday Bible study I go to, is balding. He refers to his remaining hairs as the guys. Tonight at a mid-week Bible study, Paul shared that he might have high blood pressure and would greatly appreciate our prayer. Later, after admonishing the guys to remain on his head, he read that talking can increase blood pressure. Somewhere in there several of us missed that he was talking about blood pressure and figured that if he stopped talking, he'd stop lossing hair.

Also tonight, Rhea (an old friend and Bible study regular) assured me that women are extremely complex and therefore very difficult to understand. I always enjoy hearing stuff like that coming from female friends. Of course, I should note that men are not very complex and therefore very difficult to understand.

Browser Wars: Episode VI - Return of the WaSP

Yesterday, The Web Standards Project (WaSP) announced their return. The new campaign site comes complete with a weblog, heaps of resources for creating web sites according to W3C specifications, and a nifty RSS feed.

Congrats to the WaSP for their return and to Scott for his Steering Committee position. What a great time to be a web developer!

Triumph Over Breakfast Foods

I had maple brown sugar oatmeal for breakfast this morning. I don't remember eating oatmeal before, but my sister assured me that it was a breakfast staple when I was a wee lad.

I've had this unexplainable fear of oatmeal for years. Today when we ran out of cereal and I didn't feel like cooking eggs I decided it was time to conquer that fear. After a battle well fought, the oatmeal was consumed and my stomach was satisfied. Ahh, the challenges of being bored and unemployed.
