um, i'm having a problem with the site... there's all this geek stuff that i don't understand getting posted... see if it's possible to bring back some actual, um, human interest storyness. :D speaking of geeks, have you ever played wolfenstein somethingorother (a comp. game)? or settlers (a board game)? my brother has been super geeky ("super geek, super geek. he's super geeky...") recently - kellan's off in charleyville taking a class, so there's nothing to distract him from his pursuit of the ever-sought-after monitor-glow tan - and so he's been introducing me and mom to more games that he can beat us in. okay, yeah, consider this a friendly reminder that there're other people who read your site. and we like small words we can understand... actually, big words're okay, too. just so's we understand 'em.
Ahh yes, Miss Hoagie. I
Ahh yes, Miss Hoagie. I should have expected to hear from you. :P I've actually been discussing with Rebekah recently that I would like to write more personal things, but I find it much more difficult. I've actually been quite busy reading through the Harry Potter series recently, but we'll see what I can do.
You know, I did write quite a bit about the angst of being separated from Rebekah during college. Maybe it's just that that's missing, as we're happily married now. ;)
Your brother is probably speaking of Wolfenstein 3D and Settlers of Catan. I routinely play board games on Friday evenings with co-workers, so I've been exposed to quite a few games. Settlers is OK, but certainly not my favorite. And I played Wolfenstein 3D years and years ago. It was a good game during its prime. He could, of course, be talking about Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which is an update to the original. Also a good game.
Harry Potter
Woo-hooo! So glad you've been engrossed in the HP. After reading Book 6, I'm re-reading from the beginning (again) and am now back in the midst of Book 6. It's a delight....so glad you've decided to indulge!!!!
I had been thinking that I'd
I had been thinking that I'd wait until seeing each movie to read the respective book. People are often disappointed by movies after reading the book and I wanted to enjoy both. So, if I saw the movie, then read the book, I figured I'd be OK.
However, one of my co-workers reminded me that I was preventing my imagination for getting a good work-out by visualizing what I read. When I read the first three books, I saw parts of the movies in my head rather than made up the images myself. So, with the fourth through sixth books, I've been able to picture things the way I think they happen instead of some director in Hollywood. It's nice. :)
I just started book six yesterday, so I should be through it by next weekend.
c'mon, tim...
just b/c everything you write can be seen by people anywhere in the world doesn't mean you shouldn't delve deep into the muck that usually is one's personal life. actually, how would your life not be personal anyway... n/m. but really, even when we were at school, there was plenty of family angst and fun experiences you felt the need to share. so, really - sharing is caring. plus, i can't read harry potter at work (or confessions of a master jewel thief, which is what i'm actually reading), so blogs are the words of choice. bored and interested people everywhere are wondering what's going on over chonder. so make us happier.
also, i have no idea what michael was playing. and settlers of catan (which is indeed what we played) is essentially risk with monopoly involved and battles thrown out. not too bad, but i have no hope of winning vs. him. grrr.
It's not about delving into
It's not about delving into the muck. I don't really mind that. It's more just getting it out in the first place. Most of the angst is gone, since I married Rebekah and I'm not living at home.
But, as you saw, I just wrote something personal. And I have a couple more things in mind.
